Aspiring country stars have the opportunity to kick-start their careers via the 4th annual NASH Next competition.

NASH Next 2018 officially launched on June 18, bringing together aspiring stars, a major record label (Big Machine Label Group) and the power of country radio (Cumulus Media). The winner of the four-month competition will receive a record deal with Big Machine Label Group and substantial radio exposure on Cumulus radio stations nationwide.

Artists can enter the competition via NASH Next or participating local stations. Listeners in local markets will rate each original song, along with local music industry professionals. Local markets will then host live events or select their finalist by judging the contestants in a video performance of their original song.

Ten of the local finalists will be selected by industry professionals to compete at the national finale event in Nashville in October where a panel of celebrity judges—including BMLG’s Scott Borchetta and Brooks & Dunn’s Kix Brooks—will announce the NASH Next 2018 winner.

“I’m always on the hunt for great new talent, and there’s arguably no better way to do it than through country radio,” said Borchetta. “In our fourth year with NASH Next, this program provides the Big Machine Label Group an incredible opportunity to have our eyes and ears on the ground in all of the great Cumulus country radio markets. If you want to be next, enter now. Game on.”

“I really enjoyed being part of NASH Next last year,” added Kix Brooks. The level of talent continues to get better and more competitive every year, and this music platform is working! It’s been fun to watch last year’s winner, Radio Romance, catch the wave and surf it to the next level of their career.”

Radio Romance released their debut single, “Weekend,” in April 2018 and cracked the Top 50 on the country charts in their first week on the radio.

“This whole experience has been truly incredible,” said Radio Romance’s frontman Sam Hayes. “There is honestly no way to describe what it’s like when you hear your first single played on the radio or when you see your name on the country music charts.”

This here is some California Country y’all. Brought to you by your favorite Earl and his Cousins. Without a doubt, a good time...every time!
Shannon Rae
Shannon Rae
A California girl with a country heart, Shannon Rae lights up a stage. Whether displaying strength or vulnerability, she passionately taps into the power and emotion of her songs with a clear command of her voice and presence.

As a singer-entertainer for most of her life, she is a former Miss Long Beach, three time Miss Hot Rod Magazine, and an accomplished nationally recognized model. Modeling was the money maker, but music was always her calling when Demimonde, the pop act brainchild of Shuki Levy (Saban Entertainment) came to life and recruited Shannon to join the group. From there, she recorded with the three girl country bar band Sweet Water Junction, and then met renowned producer and musician Marty Rifkin (Bruce Springsteen, Glen Cambell, Leanne Rhimes) who co-wrote some of her earliest songs.

In the past few years Shannon has been collaborating with songwriter, producer, and band mate Dave Polich, while touring throughout the southwest in a very successful tribute band. Together, they have co-written an impressive catalog of country rock Americana songs.

With original style and direction, Shannon's brand of country music influenced by such icons as Linda Ronstadt, Trisha Yearwood, Sheryl Crow, Wynonna, and Reba McEntire gained the attention of Michael Vail Blum from Los Angeles based record company Music Master Exchange, who signed Shannon to a recording contract saying, "Shannon has a unique, stand out tone that really delivers on this fantastic collection of Americana tunes".

The release of Shannon Rae, takes her career to the next level as a seasoned singer and performer at the peak of her talents. The 14 cuts on the album are an eclectic mix of up-tempo, mid-tempo and ballads, inspired by life, love, heartbreak and fun.
Emily Co
Emily Co
My name is Emily Coale and I am a singer songwriter from Los Angeles, CA! I put out YouTube covers/originals every Wednesday!
Olivia Pierce
Olivia Pierce
Born and raised in California, Olivia Fleming came out of the womb influenced by music. Her mom is a professional singer and vocal coach. “She was recording in studios all throughout her pregnancy with me. I feel as if I was being fed her musical ability and experiences from even before my birth, and my musical journey started very early.” She began lessons at 4, playing drums, violin, cello, guitar, and piano. She also began singing at 5. Olivia began writing music at 13 and recorded her first original song a year later, under the name “Lovey”.

Her first big show was performing at the Jon Lovitz Comedy Club in Universal Studios Hollywood. Performing with Aremenian blues artist, SUR as guest vocalist, Olivia played an original along with an “outrageous version” of Tracy Chapman's “Give Me One Reason”. Of the performance with a full blues band behind her, she says it's still one of the coolest nights of her life. At age 15, Olivia knew that she wanted to pursue music as a career. “I told my parents that I was going to become a serious artist. I’ve never been afraid of failing, and I think that is what drives me in all my creative passages; the courage to fly,” she explains.

Olivia began writing her own songs four years ago. The music is usually inspired by strongly emotional event & the songs just flow. She states that the songs are representative of whatever is going on in her life at the time and come from a subconscious level. After sustaining a traumatic brain injury from a concussion she received during a dance performance, it influenced her current album. Olivia has been recovering for a year and has battled through extreme pain, anxiety, and many other neurological problems. “I am still sorting through and living with every day. As you can imagine, this is a very powerful moment in time for me both energetically, and physically, and songs of suffering and pain I was going through just started flowing through me.”

Influenced by her mother and grandmother, Olivia explains that her songwriting takes place on spiritual level. “I often have a spiritual experience of meditation when I am writing, as if the words are coming through me instead of from me, and I seldom ever know what a song is truly about until I discover it a few months or even years later. It is an incredible self-exploration as well as artistic expression.” She states that everything she does is to be the light for others who have none as it is her sole purpose in life. “All my songs, no matter how dark, have an uplifting, hopeful message encoded in them. Art, after all, is not only about beauty of the human expression, but about impacting others and contributing a positive message to the world around us. As an artist, this will always be my first and foremost mission.”

Though still young, Oilvia has accomplished a lot. Her biggest accomplishments thus far are her fashion blog ( http://theindiegirl.com) and philanthropic online store/organization (http://shopfrenchfunk.com). The blog began as a hobby and quickly evolved into a full time endeavor. She works with companies worldwide to bring quality styles & looks to her readers. French Funk where she sells hand-picked vintage collections with 100% of proceeds going to charity. “So far, I have helped sponsor a young girl’s brain surgery, fund a Parkinson’s clinic, and am half way there to sending two kids recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes to a juvenile diabetes camp this summer where they will learn how to take care of themselves on their new journey.” Olivia describes the organization as her most meaningful purpose and she hopes for the e-store to grow and reach more people.

Olivia has an important message to her fans, “as always, I would never be anywhere if there weren’t people I love and don’t even know clicking on my site, buying my clothes, and listening to my music. I am eternally grateful to everyone out there who has ever supported me, and I just want to say to each and every one of you, from the bottom of my heart forever, thank you.”
Brandon Stansell
Brandon Stansell
Brandon Stansell is a fresh face onto the Country Music scene, but has always been nearby; honing his craft and finding his voice. SLOW DOWN, co-written with Mylen and the title track off his new EP, is the epicenter of his "California Country" sound with the raw emotion of those first moments in a budding relationship. SLOW DOWN was produced by Nashville-based producer, writer, and guitarist Erik Halbig. Stansell met Erik a few years ago through friend, Ty Herndon, who is featured on the track.

While his casual country sound is appealing, there is more that meets the eye with this crooner of Nashville roots. He is navigating the path of an openly-gay Country Artist. Brandon, while not the first to chart these waters, is one of few people in the industry willing to lay everything out for the listener and the result is an honest, beautiful musical experience.

Director Trent Atkinson, once again, joined his team directing videos for SLOW DOWN and NEVER KNOW - building on the cinematic scope their first collaborative work, DEAR JOHN, which was released in early 2016.
Jay Tighe
Jay Tighe
Jay Tighe has released his debut album “Driven” which features 11 tracks all written by Jay. The album, released independently on iTunes, GooglePlay, Amazon, and jaytighe.com, features some of Nashville’s best musicians and was produced by Otto D’Agnolo with Jay Tighe. This Midwest raised, St Louis hometown singer says artists ranging from Rascal Flatts to Kenny Rogers to George Michael have influenced his mix of country & pop singing/songwriting. Jay has shared the stage with artists including Sugarland, Jason Aldean, Enrique Iglesias, and many others.

Jay’s lead single off "Driven“ is the catchy country sing-a-long "Red Flags" dealing with the warning signs of any new relationship. The song is accompanied by an incredibly fun video directed by Nayip Ramos in which Jay is seen battling the outcomes of ignoring the red flags. The follow-up single to "Red Flags" is the anthem "Driven" with a video guest starring MMA champion Keith Kirkwood. The final single off the album is the ballad "All To Me" which features a stunning video shot on the island of Oahu in Hawaii and is all about love. The song is an instant fan favorite and has wedding song written all over it.

Other key tracks on the album include “Saturday Night (Get It)”- a weekend party anthem with an infectious hook and “Tattoo This” – a non-love song. The album’s opening track “Driven”clearly sets the stage for 11 well-crafted songs with enough diversity to keep it fresh, yet full of radio friendly melodies. As a special treat for fans, Jay also released an EP titled "Stripped" featuring 6 acoustic tracks off his debut album. Jay is currently working on writing and recording music for his sophomore album.

Kiddo
Kiddo
Kiddo is a singer/songwriter whose music combines hooky pop melodies and a Texas country twang. She is known for belting and performing her songs unashamedly, with lyrics that talk about heartache, the search for love and self empowerment.

Hailing from San Antonio, Texas, Kiddo began her career on stage at the very young age of 11, performing in dive bars, cowboy saloon halls and Country festivals. Next steps were performing national and international and having her first album under publishing of Universal records.

Music is not just an option for Kiddo... it is her life and passion. It was an easy step to take all that depth and put it into writing songs that would tell her authentic life and let her voice shine. After years of working through her craft on her own, she met the very established and intuitive producer Mikal Blue (Danielle Bradberry, Colbie Callait) in Los Angles, CA. They produced an EP full of hit songs... gut wrenching, ear worm... cry in your beer songs!

Look out for her new releases in 2018 as she performs, connects with new fans, and breaks all the rules while doing it. Kiddo is a true Texas country rebel with wildfire in her eyes and ready to tell her story to the world.
